Break a neck
Is when we wish luck
Like a curse
Or something similar
Fatally damaging
As if luck
Was not already
Part of the package
Lying on the bottom
A candle dormant
Don’t wish me luck
Wish me light
Or at least a match
Or a spark
To light that fire
Wish me luck
You mean the universe
Lending me a helping hand
Letting me stumble in the dark
Over that box of matches.
As luck would have it
It was raining.
